Tile Brands We Carry
Ceramic vs. Porcelain Tile
Ceramic tile is made from natural clay, fired at lower temperatures. It is lighter and easier to cut, making it ideal for wall applications and standard residential floors.
Porcelain tile is fired at higher temperatures and is denser, harder, and less porous than ceramic. It is more water-resistant, scratch-resistant, and suitable for high-traffic floors, outdoor applications, and wet areas like shower floors.
For bathroom floors and shower installations, we typically recommend porcelain. For kitchen backsplashes and accent walls, ceramic is an excellent, more budget-friendly choice.
